10am-4pm
Tournament Location: Oakland International High School 4521 Webster St, Oakland, CA 94609 (field at intersection of 48th & Clark, around the corner from the school entrance)
Roster Limits: 5-10 players per team, must have at least 2 females on field at all times. Teams register together but if you are an individual without a team, please submit a form and we will match you with a team!
Team Donation: $1000 minimum per team (team fundraising highly suggested—it's easy if everyone does their part!)
Games: 20 minute games (two 10-minute halves). Each team guaranteed 4 games in addition to playoffs for qualifying teams.
Tournament Structure - Each team is guaranteed 4 games during group play with a maximum of 6 games on the day. There will be a recreational bracket and a competitive bracket—essentially two separate tournaments. Each winning team will receive a trophy! The team that fundraised most, and the best halloween costume will also receive awards.
Number of Players - Ten (10) is the maximum number of players allowed on any given team. A player may only register for one team. Games will be played with a total of five (5) players on the field per side at least two (2) of which must be female at all times. There will be no goalkeepers.
Team Uniforms and Equipment - Teams will be given SWB t-shirts of matching colors provided at check-in on the day of the tournament. You can choose to wear this as your team uniform, however this is a Halloween event and costumes are highly encouraged! There will be a special prize for the team that comes dressed in the best costume. Shinguards are recommended but not required. The playing surface is field turf, so cleats, turf shoes, or flats are all appropriate. Game balls will be provided.
Game Duration- Each game will be twenty (20) minutes in duration with a half time. There will be five (5) minutes between each game. The referee will keep time. Games tied after regulation will end in a tie except in the playoff rounds. Golden goal will be used to decide contests in the semi-final and final games. Any team delaying the start of a game by more than five (5) minutes will forfeit by a score of 3-0.
Group Play Scoring - Each win will be worth three (3) points. A tie is worth one (1) point. Losses are awarded zero (0) points. Head-to-head results will be considered first, followed by goal differential, to decide any group bracket ties.
Referees - There will be one/two referee per field for all games. Substitutions may be made on the fly.
Field Rules - Direct, indirect, and penalty kicks will be awarded at the referee's discretion. Throw-ins, goal kicks and corner kicks will used to restart play. There will be no offsides in effect.
Sportsmanship - Players are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times, particularly when thinking about abusing the poor referees; their job is tough! All games will be played in the spirit of SWB. At the end of each match, a team will pick a player on the other team to award a "positivity point". Consider language, attitude, respect, treatment of opponents/teammates/referees, and overall positivity when awarding the positivity point. Each team will have a card and keep track of who received the positivity points. At the end of the tournament, people with the most positivity will be celebrated.
